Do you know how Foucault's pendulum works? Did you know that it can be used to prove that the Earth rotates?

You let the pendulum swing back and forth, and in 24 hours it completes a full circle. But the pendulum itself does not rotate, as there is no sideways force that would affects its linear swinging motion. So it must be the ground beneath the pendulum that rotates. The pendulum is fixed to the ceiling with a nearly frictionless ball joint that allows the pendulum to swing unaffected even when the building itself around the pendulum is slowly rotating. I think this is super cool.

My Volkswagen 2.4L AAB engine makes this weird clanging noise, especially when cold. I think it gets a bit better when the engine has warmed up.
Any idea what's wrong with it?

It's time to rename the site. One of the main reasons is that there seem to be more and more services named "Aava" out there.
I'm thinking of renaming the site to "minisome": miniature social media. Because that's what this site is. It's also sort of like "awesome".

The smartest individuals reject society and technology.
You might think the smartest ones adapt to the system and succeed in it. It's one type of intelligence, but true pioneers leave a broken system instead of keeping it alive for personal gain.

Every day I'm wondering if I should drop out from university and live in a tent. No job, no Internet connection, no smartphone. There's something about modern society that makes me feel sick, like I was in an invisible prison, separated from real life. Everything feels like a distraction. You know what I mean?

We're already nearing a point in time where tech companies like Microsoft, Google, meta etc. could take total control of humanity. They have so much money and influence that they're basically politicians that weren't elected democratically.
And we let this happen.

There are a lot of psychos in charge of tech nowadays half of these large companies are basically just fronts for intelligence agencies it is like a tyrants dream but again the general populace are not guilt free they have all the information to know what is bad and what is good and they choose the evil tech for it's convenience.
